The artist portrayed in this painting is likely Lucas Achtschellinck. The landscape in this portrait as well as the small landscape hold by the artist, can be attributed to Lucas Achtschellinck himself who collaborated with Lucas Franchois, notably for the landscapes of the latter's paintings CDW 5028 and CDW 5099.
